MBTA Commuter Rail Pilot
Program Update
 
The impact of COVID-19 has been widespread, including significantly affecting the MBTA and the commuter rail. Due to this continued impact on ridership and commuter patterns, the MBTA and the Kraft Group have made the joint decision to extend the pause on service from Foxboro Station. This extension will allow additional time for ridership and the MBTA to recover from the lasting effects of COVID-19.
 
Prior to these extenuating circumstances, Foxboro Station, under the partnership of the Town of Foxborough, MassDOT, MBTA and Kraft Group, demonstrated steady monthly growth in key metrics, including ridership numbers, and remains a key economic driver for Foxborough and the surrounding community.
