FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Due to anticipated demand for his only stadium show in the United States in 2017, country music superstar Kenny Chesney is extending his stay at Gillette Stadium for the weekend and adding a second show exclusively for the birthplace of “No Shoes Nation” on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017.
Tickets for the Aug. 25 and 26, 2017 shows, featuring special guests Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion, go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at www.ticketmaster.com.
Shortly after the release of his 17th studio album, “Cosmic Hallelujah,” Chesney received the CMA Pinnacle Award at the 50th Annual CMA Awards for his global prominence through concert performances and record sales at levels unique to country music. The eight-time Entertainer of the Year has performed at Gillette Stadium more times than any artist and holds stadium records for the most sold out performances (15) and ticket sales (nearly 847,000). Billboard has crowned him the “biggest ticket seller in country music and among the elite touring artists in the world.”
Rhett, a Nashville native, is a singer and songwriter known for mixing the sound of his influences in country, pop, R&B, rap, rock and oldies with equal doses of groove, melody and twang. His two albums, 2013’s “It Goes Like This” and 2015’s “Tangled Up,” have produced 10 singles on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts with six reaching No. 1, including “It Goes Like This,” “Get Me Some of That,” “Die a Happy Man” and “T-Shirt.” He has also written singles for Jason Aldean, Lee Brice and Florida Georgia Line.
Old Dominion will return with Chesney to Gillette Stadium for a third consecutive summer in 2017. Nashville’s band of songwriters has quickly become a New England crowd favorite with No. 1 hits like “Break Up With Him,” “Snapback” and “Song For Another Time.” The band also penned Chesney’s No. 1 single, “Save It For A Rainy Day” and chart-toppers for Blake Shelton (“Sangria”), The Band Perry (“Better Dig Two”), Tyler Farr (“Guy Walks Into A Bar”) and Dierks Bentley (“Say You Do”).
Both shows are produced by Kraft Entertainment.
